When it comes to fashion books (or coffee table books), I’ll admit, I’m a total hoarder! They are a must have when it comes to decorating my coffee table, entryway and night stand. I started collecting them a few years ago and became obsessed!
There are so many ways of using books throughout your home. Below are some styling tips that I follow:
Selecting colorful book covers is a great way to add a pop of color to your room.
Overtime you collect books based on your hobbies and passion, showcasing them is great way to add character to any room.
They can be used to serve as a placeholder for smaller items that you want to display on your coffee table or bedside table. I usually like to stack them in groups of two or three, but there are so many other ways of displaying them.
I am a big fan of color coordinating books. However, if you are going for a more eclectic look, don’t be afraid to mix and match colors. Keep in mind, what other colors you have in the room so they compliment your overall decor.
Coffee table books can get a little expensive. Hence, whenever there is a sale, I try to grab some. There is no shame in buying used ones! I have a couple used ones that I purchased off amazon and they were in great shape. Yard sales and vintage stores are also a great source for beautiful books that won’t break your budget.
Free art! I’m guilty of framing some pages from my favorite books and using them as art.
Here are some of my favorite books:
The Classics: you can never go wrong with black and white covers such as Tom Ford, Chanel or Kate Moss books. This décor one is inexpensive, looks great and it’s such a good read!
The Pinks: I love adding a touch of pink to my room with books. One of my favorites is this Chanel book that has a beautiful dust cover in a blush pink. Still on my list to buy is this Kate Spade and “It” by Alexa Chung.
The oranges: Add a touch of sunshine with an orange book. These also go great with the classics.
I’m always on the look out for great deals, and let me tell you this is by far one of the best sales I have seen!! Joss & Main is having an annual sale with up to 70% off upholstery items. There are many great headboards, sofas, chairs and super cute x-benches at amazing prices. Here are some of my favorites:
Hi y’all! Hope you had a great weekend! I finally found some time to write a new blog post. Let me tell you, it has not been easy finding time to update the blog with work and the baby! How do other busy moms do it all?!
Anyways, I wanted to talk a little bit about my new West Elm coffee table. I have had it for a little while now and love it so much! If you remember I used to have the Ikea Vitro Table that I spray painted gold.
Though I really like that coffee table, I experienced some issues with it.I had to constantly retouch the paint because the gold kept coming off, it was quite wobbly and I wasn’t a fan of the dark bottom shelf (I did keep the small table as my side table, since we don’t use it as much!).
It was definitely time to invest in a decent coffee table, and after tons of research I decided to go with the West Elm Coffee Terrace table.
What I love about this coffee table:
The size! So much bigger than my ikea one.
It’s super sturdy (you get what you pay for).
It has 3 shelves, two glass shelves and a mirrored one at the bottom, perfect for displaying all my books!
The color is a beautiful brass tone and I don’t need to repaint it.
Finally, this is a table that will go with us to our dream home. Definitely a beautiful piece that I will keep for years to come. So it was worth the investment! What do you guys think?
It’s almost summer time!!! This year, along with new bathing suits (or one pieces, since this post baby body is not ready for a bikini!) I must have floats! They are everywhere and I’m obsessed! And no, I don’t have a pool, but I think they are a great gift for the hostess of that pool party you going to attend or crash this summer. Here are some of my favorites:
Of course I already got the baby flamingo for Sophia and the big flamingo for me! Which one is your favorite?
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably have seen my Ikea hack of the Malm dresser. I always get so many questions on it, so I wanted to do a post about it to share all the details.
For this Ikea hack, I used two malm dressers of four drawers. They are two separate dressers that I placed together, not glued or attached, but I guess if you want to, you could probably attach them. On top, I added the glass top so it look seamless, this makes a huge difference, otherwise it would probably look a little weird lol!
Now the fun part, the knobs!! I loveee brass or lucite knobs, so for the bedroom dresser I used brass ring pulls, and for Sophia’s room I used a lucite and brass pulls for a more vintage look. Here are some of my favorite knobs:
To attach the knobs, use a cabinet mounting template (like this) and measure top to bottom and side to side to make sure that the holes are aligned. Use a regular drill bit to make your holes and attach the knobs with the hardware provided. Done!
I absolutely love how they look now, it gives the dresser a more glam look. Have you dome any Ikea hacks? Let me know if you would like to see any other Ikea hacks that I have done in my house!
