How to preserve your wedding bouquet

I have had mine for 4 years now, still looks quite pleasing in a beautiful box right on top of my bedroom dresser. Below you can see what it looked like on my wedding day. It was a gorgeous peony bouquet! My favorite flower. So here is what I did to preserve my bouquet.

Step 1: Keep your bouquet hydrated

Keep your wedding bouquet hydrated and in water if possible. After the ceremony and pictures are over with, put your bouquet in a vase with water. I kept mine in the sweetheart table.

When I got to the hotel I made sure to put the bouquet in water again.

Step 2: how to dry a bridal bouquet

Once you are home give your bouquet a good shower of hairspray. You can even buy a whole bottom of cheap hairspray to use on it. Be generous with it, making sure it got a really good coat of the hairspray

Hang your bouquet upside down, making sure that is not touching anything so the flowers can keep their best shape. I hung mine under I stool I had in the kitchen.

Leave the bouquet to dry, this will take a couple of days. Every couple of days I would spray again with hairspray.

Now that your wedding bouquet is all dry use it to decorate your home with it. I use the card glass box from my wedding to display the flowers. This glass box it’s beautiful and I was able to reuse two things from my wedding! It did cracked a little when we moved, but since is still together I’m still using it 😆.

I also kept the cake topper and some other keepsakes from my wedding in the box. I think this is a great idea on how to make sure that your wedding bouquet is not only preserved but it can be used to decorate your home. Also, it’s free!!

I display it on top of my Ikea malm dresser in the master bedroom. But it would look beautiful displayed in a shelf or even a coffee table.

Now, the envelope glass box that I used above is sold out. I have found a similar one and linked for you below.
