How To Make a Bed Like a Pro – Three Ways to Style Your Bed

Have you ever wonder how to make a bed like a hotel? Or how to make you bed look cozy? Or how to properly make your bed? Well, wonder no more! Today I will be sharing how to make a bed three ways with step by step instructions and everything you will need for it. Let’s start with the hotel bed!

How to make a hotel bed

I love a hotel bed, always fresh linens that are perfectly laid and ironed. The hotel bed is more of a proper bed, so if you are going for a more formal look this one is for you. To recreate the hotel bed look, think white duvet covers and king shams. I also like the look of a border duvet cover and monogramed pillows for a more formal look.

To recreated the hotel bed look you will need:
2 King pillows (I love king pillows as they double as body pillows!)
2 Regular pillows with ruffles shams
2 Euro pillows
1 Sheet set
1 All white duvet cover or border cover (duvet covers should be ironed)
1 Coverlet
1 Toss pillow or two

Hotel beds don’t usually have that many toss pillows, so add as little or as many as you want. Start with the sheet set, add the duvet and fold a little the top part. Add the two king pillows, followed by the two shams and the two Euro pillows. Add a toss pillow to finish it off. The coverlet should be folded  three times and added to the foot of the bed.

How to make a cozy bed

The cozy bed is my favorite right now. I’m loving the relaxed look and layers of my cozy bed. For the cozy bed, think linen sheets and oversized duvets, soft blankets and gorgeous pillows. The cozy bed it’s my favorite because it’s probably the easiest to recreate. There is no ironing needed, just grab those soft washed linen sheets, some blankets and a pillow or two.To make the cozy bed you will need:

2 King pillows (I always like to start with king pillows)
2 Regular pillows
1 Sheet set
1 Linen duvet or ruffle duvet cover and a fluffy duvet insert
1 Coverlet
1 Toss pillow or two

Start with two king pillows, followed by two shams. You can skip the top sheet on this one. I don’t really like the tops sheet, mostly because I feel that it always ends up at the bottom of the bed under the duvet cover. Make sure to pick a fluffy duvet insert. Add a folded coverlet at the bottom of the bed. For an added layer finish it off with a cozy blanket.

The cozy bed it’s not perfect, so you can let just one or two toss pillows on it. I still like to keep mine a little put together with this pillow mix: 2 leopard pillows + 12×24 Greek key pillow 

The Proper Bed

Or the Instagram ready bed. This one is sure to make you bedroom very put together and ready to be shared! For the proper bed, start with the same mix: two king pillows, two shams. Add three euro size pillows, two with no ruffles and the last one with ruffles. Make the bed using the coverlet tucked in. Add the folded duvet cover on the bottom of the bed. 

Where to buy pillows?

Where to find the best pillows? I always get mine from homegoods or tjmaxx. Please make sure to by the pillows with feather insert. Specially for Euro pillows and toss pillows. If the pillow doesn’t have feather you won’t be able to karate kid in the middle lol. It will just stick up and not look good. So spend the extra 20 bucks on the feather ones. You will thank me later!
