One of the most frequent questions I get is: “How are your Fabuwood kitchen cabinets holding up after all these years?” Well, it’s been seven years since we completed our kitchen renovation, and I’m happy to report that our Fabuwood cabinets still look amazing!

Nearly eight years in, the kitchen remains in excellent condition—as you can see in the photos. The cabinets have held up beautifully through daily use, and we continue to love them just as much as the day they were installed.

Wear and Tear After 7+ Years
The only cabinet that shows slight signs of wear is the pull-out trash cabinet, which makes sense since it’s the most frequently used one in the kitchen. Otherwise, all the other cabinets—doors, drawers, and finishes—still look and function like new.

Why We Still Recommend Fabuwood Cabinets
We were so happy with our Fabuwood cabinets that we recently decided to add a matching coffee bar to our breakfast nook (I’ll be sharing all the details in a separate post!). The consistency in finish and quality made it easy to match with our existing cabinetry.

What I’d Do Differently

If I could go back and change one thing, I would have chosen a two-toned kitchen. I think a white oak island would have added beautiful contrast and warmth to the space. I’ve also had fun experimenting by adding peel-and-stick wallpaper to the glass cabinet backs, and I absolutely love the result—it’s such a fun and budget-friendly update!

Another thing that I would probably change is the knobs. Don’t get me wrong, I love these Rejuvenation brass knobs, but I wish I had selected the polished finish instead of the unlacquered brass. Once a month I have to deep clean the knobs as I’m not really a fan of the patina (it just looks dirty in my view).

Upcoming Kitchen Updates
I’m currently planning a few more simple upgrades, including: adding pendant lighting in the cabinets by the kitchen window. Installing some soft café curtains to bring in a cozy touch and I really want to open the pantry that we closed under the stairs!! This will be a major project, but I’m excited about it!

Is Fabuwood Worth It? Yes!
In terms of quality for the price, Fabuwood cabinets are hard to beat. Kitchen renovations can get expensive quickly, but finding cabinets that are both stylish and durable at a reasonable cost was a game-changer for us.
If you’re considering a kitchen remodel and wondering if Fabuwood is a good choice—based on our long-term experience, the answer is a definite yes.
