Hope you have a great rest of the week!
It’s a new year, a new you and it it’s time to think about updating that old sofa in your living room! Don’t worry, because I have spent hours researching and looking for the best sofas under $1,000. After all you don’t need to spend a lot to have a stylish sofa! I still use my $499 Erktop sofa and love it!
Now, since the sofa is the central piece of furniture in your living room, it really should be a great piece that can stand the test of time. I really like timeless designs (think tufted, english arm roll, etc.) with clean lines.
As far as color I prefer to stick with the neutrals (white, grays and beige). This gives you a blank canvas to decorate with pillows and you can change the décor around when you get tired/bored with it without having to change the main and most expensive item.
Erktop Sofa from Ikea- I have had this one for 6 years and still going strong. At $300 you cannot beat the price. The covers are removable and I wash it once a month. Worst case scenario, you can always buy a new cover for $100.
English Arm Roll sofas- this will be my next sofa. I’m currently looking for a replacement for my Ikea one (its time!) and I want a English arm roll one. I just love the classic look of this sofa. This one from Pottery Barn is under $800! I also love this one. Pottery Barn has some really great options under $1000 and their quality its amazing.
See below other amazing options under $1000!
Hello loves! I’m so excited to share Sophia’s Unicorn birthday party with you all! I can’t believe she is already one year old. Like every mother before me, I’m shocked by how fast the first year went. I think the biggest transformation is to see your baby going from a newborn to a little person walking around and starting to talk! Time flies by in a blink of an eye, what everyone will tell you is the absolutely true.
When it came to the theme of the party I was really undecided for a while, at first I thought I wanted a princess theme, then star theme and the list goes on and on, lol! Then finally I saw this unicorn cake on Instagram and I was sold! I love unicorns and how whimsical they are and thought it would be perfect for her first little party. You can see my inspiration board here.
For the main sweets table, I did a pastel balloon arch with flowers and a curtain backdrop. For the balloon arch, I used this tape as the base, and added the bigger balloons to it. I then used a low temperature glue gun to glue the smaller balloons. Once all glue dried, I added faux peonies from Ikea and other flowers from Michael’s.
On the main table, I had this beautiful unicorn cake and a mix of sweets done by Flora Deserts. The donuts cake and unicorn cupcakes were made by my sister in law!
Since the place didn’t have a lot of natural light, I added Christmas lights to the background and used cheap Ikea curtains attached it to a photo background stand. I then added these beautiful glitter letters to it. I huge thanks to Funky Letter Boutique for making the beautiful “Sophia” script letters for the background. Britaine was great to work with and she customized the letters to the size that I needed. The Unicorn invites and all the party printables are from Sprinkled Designs on Etsy. Linda has so many great options on her site and she worked with me to create all the cute designs!
I had a second table with this rainbow background that unfortunately I was not able to finish. It was supposed to have a cotton candy cake stand, but due to the snow storm the cotton candy did not arrive on time. I still used the second table for water, star shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and her smash cake.
For activities, we had a bead station for the girls to do bracelets, it was a super hit! Everyone loved it. I also made unicorn headbands and star wands.
I have linked all the balloons and tools I used here:
As always, let me know if I forgot to list something or if you have any other questions. Hope you enjoyed her little party!
Welcome lovely friends coming from Tanya’s A Darling Day Dream blog. Hope you are enjoying the tour so far. Spring is around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited. Living on the east coast, our winter is no joke! I’m so ready to see the trees turn green again and this gloomy weather to go away. This means is also time to refresh your decor and bring those happy bright tones in.
As always, I don’t believe you need to spend a lot to update your space. A couple of new pillows, a fluffy throw, some candles and flowers it’s all you need to bring your bedroom back to life. I went with this blush Pom Pom throw and this sheepskin pillow from Anne Selke, and these beautiful floral water color pillows to complete my bedroom update. Only a few touches and my bedroom is ready for spring and it already feels so much brighter in here!
Here are some other things that you can do to get your bedroom spring ready:
1. Declutter: this is something I try to do often, cleaning my closet, donating items I no longer use or toys Sophia doesn’t play with anymore. This is specially important when you live in a small space like me. I even reduced the number of pillows in my bed since we had so many and they would all end up in our floor since we have no space to store them.
2. I hate ironing as much as the next person, but I do take the time to iron my duvet cover and pillows cases (even if I do such a poor job like seen bellow 😂). It just makes such a difference and gives the bed a more polished look.
3. Use cute boxes and baskets for storage. I use a jewelry box to store my night creams by my bedside and baskets to house extra pillows. They are a good way of storing cluttering items without sacrificing in style.
What are some of the things that you do to freshen up for spring? Hope you enjoyed my bedroom spring tour and please continue on our tour to visit the fabulous Jen of StyleHouseInteriors and check out her beautiful spring updates.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great Monday!
Thank you to Annie Selke for being so kind and providing some of the items for this home tour!
Good morning dolls! March is already here and I have been super busy planning Sophia’s birthday party. However, I wanted to share some of my late findings and some of the items I got from the Shopbop sale (today is the last day to shop, up to 25% off!).
I picked up this pretty pink lace dress for Sophia’s birthday, isn’t it lovely? I also got this shampoo from the new Kristin Ess collection at Target which I absolutely love (I may or may not have gotten the mascara and volumizer mousse too!). It’s such a great line! All the products are great and are at a very good price. While I was at Target I also checked out the new Baubeblar collection and is super cute, love this tassel earrings. I found this new pink letter board and is so adorable I might have to buy it too (hubby might not like that! Lol). From the Shopbop sale, I always look for Fashion books, accessories and jeans. I finally got this pair of Levis (they are low on sizes :() and this super cute LBD. They also have the best selection of pool party floats!!!
Have a lovely Saturday!
